📖 Reading (DSKP 2.1.1, 2.2.1, 2.2.2, 2.2.3, 2.3.1) — Unit 2: Let’s Play!
Objective: Assess pupils’ ability to recognise and read toy-related words (e.g., ball, kite, doll, bike) and understand very simple written questions and short sentences about toys in familiar contexts.


Activities 

Read & match (toys):
Pupils read a doll / a kite / a ball / a bike and choose the correct picture.

True and False
Pupils read a short phrase like a long train or a red kite and choose the correct image.

Read and Answer
Pupils read the comics and answer the questions.


Grading (auto TP from % score)

  • 90–100 → TP6: Reads and understands toy-related phrases and simple sentences with ease.

  • 76–90 → TP5: Reads and responds accurately with minimal support.

  • 61–75 → TP4: Understands simple written sentences about toys with support.

  • 41–60 → TP3: Reads familiar toy words/phrases with guidance.

  • 21–40 → TP2: Recognises familiar toy words with support.

  • 0–20 → TP1: Recognises a few letters/words with strong support.


Suggested DSKP Elements (Reading, aligned to Unit 2)

  • 2.1.1 Recognise and sound out letters of the alphabet in English (e.g., /b/ in ball, /k/ in kite).

  • 2.2.1 Recognise and read familiar high-frequency words and simple phrases (toy names).

  • 2.2.2 Understand with support very simple sentences with familiar words (e.g., His favourite toy’s his car.).

  • 2.2.3 Understand and respond to very simple written questions with support (e.g., Is it a kite?).

  • 2.3.1 Read and follow simple written instructions with support (e.g., Match the toy to the word).
