Objective: To assess pupils’ ability to pronounce classroom-related words, use simple sentences, and respond orally to yes/no questions in familiar contexts.

Activities (H5P Speaking Set):

  1. Picture naming – Pupils look at a picture of a classroom object (e.g., bag, pen, ruler, book) and say the word aloud.

  2. Simple sentence – Pupils describe using short phrases or sentences (e.g., β€œIt’s a bag.”, β€œThis is my book.”).

  3. Yes/No responses – Pupils listen to or are asked simple questions and respond (e.g., β€œIs this a book?” β†’ β€œYes, it is.” / β€œNo, it isn’t.”).


Grading Criteria (Mapped to TP Levels):

  • 90–100: TP6 / Band 6 – Speaks fluently and responds confidently using simple sentences

  • 76–90: TP5 / Band 5 – Speaks clearly and uses simple sentences with minimal support

  • 61–75: TP4 / Band 4 – Speaks using familiar words and short phrases with support
