✏️ Writing (DSKP 4.1.1, 4.2.1, 4.2.2)Unit 9: At the Beach
Objective: Assess pupils’ ability to write simple sentences and a short paragraph to describe attractions in Malaysia and other countries using related vocabulary (e.g., beach, swim, tower, food, visit). Pupils demonstrate comprehension by filling in information and producing short, descriptive writing.


Activities

1. Read and Complete / Drag and Drop
Pupils read short descriptions about a country (e.g., Australia) and drag or fill in missing words that describe attractions or activities.

2. Fill in the Blanks — Attractions in Malaysia
Pupils complete short sentences about local attractions.
Example: “You can ______ in the beautiful beaches.” / “You can visit ______ Twin Towers.” / “You can eat ______.”

3. Write a Short Descriptive Paragraph
Pupils write a simple paragraph of 3–5 sentences describing Malaysia and what people can do or see there.
Encourage the correct use of can + verb and capital letters for place names.


Grading (auto TP from % score)

90–100 → TP6: Writes complete, accurate, and well-structured sentences and a short paragraph independently using correct grammar and vocabulary.

76–90 → TP5: Writes meaningful sentences and a short paragraph with minor errors or minimal support.

61–75 → TP4: Writes simple descriptive sentences with some support; occasional mistakes in spelling or sentence order.

41–60 → TP3: Writes short, guided sentences using given words or frames with teacher assistance.

21–40 → TP2: Copies or completes single words or very short phrases with strong support.

0–20 → TP1: Struggles to form or copy words or phrases, even with support.

  • 4.1.1 Copy or write in print with correct spelling and punctuation (e.g., place names and vocabulary about attractions).

  • 4.2.1 Write simple sentences with support to express basic information and ideas (e.g., You can visit the beach.).

  • 4.2.2 Write a simple paragraph with support using given words, sentence frames, or pictures (e.g., describing Malaysia and its attractions).
