✏️ Writing (DSKP 3.1.1, 3.1.2, 3.2.1, 3.2.2) — Unit 6: The Old House
Objective: Assess pupils’ ability to write simple descriptive sentences about a house using house-parts vocabulary (e.g., kitchen, living room, windows, doors) and the structures There is… / There are…, with correct spelling, basic punctuation, and capitalisation.


Activity

Write Simple Sentences Describing a House
Pupils observe a picture of a house and write 2–3 short sentences, for example:
There is one kitchen.
There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms.


Grading (auto TP from % score)

  • 90–100 → TP6: Writes complete descriptive sentences about house parts using There is / There are accurately and independently.

  • 76–90 → TP5: Completes descriptive sentences correctly with minimal support.

  • 61–75 → TP4: Writes simple house-related words and short There is / There are sentences with some support.

  • 41–60 → TP3: Copies or fills familiar house words/phrases and simple sentences with guidance.

  • 21–40 → TP2: Writes or traces a few familiar house words with support.

  • 0–20 → TP1: Attempts only a few letters or words with strong support.


Suggested DSKP Elements

  • 3.1.1 Copy familiar words in print (e.g., door, window, kitchen).

  • 3.1.2 Write letters and familiar high-frequency words from memory.

  • 3.2.1 Complete or construct simple sentences with familiar words using given models (e.g., There are three windows.).

  • 3.2.2 Use basic punctuation and capital letters with support (e.g., capitalising the first word and using full stops).
