🗣️ Speaking (DSKP 1.1.2, 1.1.3, 1.2.6, 1.3.1) — Unit 6: The Old House
Objective: Assess pupils’ ability to ask and answer questions about quantity of objects in a house setting using the patterns How many … are there? and There are …, pronounce key vocabulary (e.g., cats, cars, balls, spiders), and speak clearly in short guided exchanges.


Activity

Ask and Answer “How many … are there?”
Pupils look at a picture of various things

  • One pupil asks: How many cats are there?

  • Pupil answers: There are four cats.

This activity can also be done in pairs: one pupil records the question, another records the answer.


Grading (auto TP from % score)

  • 90–100 → TP6: Speaks clearly and confidently to ask and answer How many … are there? questions and give There are … answers accurately and independently.

  • 76–90 → TP5: Asks and answers quantity questions accurately with minimal support.

  • 61–75 → TP4: Uses simple How many … are there? and There are … phrases with some support.

  • 41–60 → TP3: Asks or answers familiar quantity questions with guidance.

  • 21–40 → TP2: Attempts to say familiar words or short phrases in the question–answer pattern with support.

  • 0–20 → TP1: Produces only a few sounds or single words with strong support.


Suggested DSKP Elements

  • 1.1.2 Pronounce familiar English words and phrases clearly with support (e.g., cats, cars, spiders).

  • 1.1.3 Use correct intonation and stress in simple phrases and sentences with support (e.g., How many cars are there?).

  • 1.2.6 Participate in short guided exchanges about familiar topics (e.g., asking and answering quantity questions).

  • 1.3.1 Express simple information about oneself and others (e.g., There are six cats in picture a.).
