Objective: Assess pupils’ ability to recognise and read free-time related words (e.g., swim, read, ride a bike, play football), understand simple written sentences, and complete short texts with suitable free-time activities using correct spelling.

Fill in the Blanks with Suitable Answers about Free Time Activities
Pupils look at pictures showing different free-time activities (e.g., children swimming, reading, playing football). They read the sentence with blanks such as
On Sunday, I ______ in the pool.
and type the correct free-time activity (e.g., swim)


Grading (auto TP from % score)

  • 90–100 → TP6: Reads and understands free-time related words and sentences with ease; fills in blanks with correct answers accurately and independently.

  • 76–90 → TP5: Completes sentences accurately with minimal support.

  • 61–75 → TP4: Writes correct free-time words in blanks with some support; understands main ideas and details.

  • 41–60 → TP3: Recognises familiar free-time words and attempts to complete blanks with guidance.

  • 21–40 → TP2: Recognises a few free-time words or letters and attempts to write them with support.

  • 0–20 → TP1: Recognises only a few letters or words with strong support.

  • 2.1.1 Recognise and sound out letters of the alphabet in English (e.g., /s/ in swim, /r/ in read).

  • 2.2.1 Recognise and read familiar high-frequency words and simple phrases (e.g., play football, ride a bike).

  • 2.2.2 Understand with support specific details in very simple phrases or sentences (e.g., time and place of activity).

  • 2.2.3 Understand and respond to very simple written questions or statements (e.g., filling blanks correctly to complete a sentence).
