🎧 Listening (DSKP 1.1.1, 1.2.1, 1.2.2) — Unit 9: At the Beach
Objective: Assess pupils’ ability to understand spoken descriptions of a beach scene and identify the location of objects using prepositions of place (e.g., on, in). Pupils demonstrate comprehension by dragging, dropping, and describing the position of items based on what they hear.
Activities
1. Listen to the Conversation about the Beach Scene
Pupils listen to a short spoken description or conversation about what people and objects are doing or where they are at the beach.
Example: “he ball is on the sand."
2. Drag and Drop Items Based on the Conversation
Pupils drag and drop the correct items (e.g., ball, umbrella, towel, bucket) to their correct locations on a beach picture according to what they hear.
3. Look and Say
After arranging the items, pupils orally describe the scene using prepositional phrases.
Example: “The ball is on the sand."
Grading (auto TP from % score)
90–100 → TP6: Understands spoken sentences about locations clearly and accurately; completes all drag-and-drop tasks correctly and uses correct prepositional phrases independently.

61–75 → TP4: Understands main ideas and some details about positions with some support; occasional errors in item placement or prepositions.
41–60 → TP3: Recognises familiar words and basic prepositions (on, in, under) and places items with guidance.
21–40 → TP2: Recognises a few familiar words or objects; needs strong support to complete the activity.
0–20 → TP1: Struggles to recognise spoken words or follow instructions even with support; random item placement.
