Objective: Assess pupils’ ability to read a short paragraph about attractions in other countries (e.g., beaches, landmarks) and choose the correct picture that represents the country described.


Activities

1. Read and Choose the Correct Picture
Pupils read a short descriptive paragraph such as: β€œIn Australia you can see kangaroos on the beach and snorkel in clear water.” or β€œIn Egypt you can visit the pyramid beside the desert sea.”
Then they choose the picture (from multiple-choice options) that matches the paragraph. Encourage pupils to pay attention to keywords such as country names, landmarks, activities, scenery, or features mentioned.


Grading (auto TP from % score)

  • 90-100 β†’ TP6: Reads and understands descriptive paragraphs independently; selects the correct picture accurately and confidently.

  • 76-90 β†’ TP5: Understands most of the text and chooses the correct picture with minimal support.

  • 61-75 β†’ TP4: Understands the main idea and some details with some support; occasional confusion in picture choice.

  • 41-60 β†’ TP3: Recognises familiar words and phrases; links text to picture with guidance.

  • 21-40 β†’ TP2: Recognises a few familiar words or phrases; needs strong support to match paragraph to picture.

  • 0-20 β†’ TP1: Struggles to read or understand the text; often guesses picture even with support.
