Objective: Assess pupils’ ability to read a short descriptive paragraph (e.g. β€œIt has one head, two legs, three eyes.”) and choose the correct picture that corresponds to the description.


Activities

1. Read and Choose the Correct Picture
Pupils read a short paragraph (1–2 sentences) that describes a β€œmonster” or robot (e.g. It has one head and two legs. It can fly.)
Then they choose the picture (from options) that matches the description.
Encourage pupils to pay attention to details such as number of heads, legs, arms, eyes, or features mentioned in the description.


Grading (auto TP from % score)

90–100 β†’ TP6: Reads and understands detailed descriptions fluently; selects the correct picture accurately and independently.

76–90 β†’ TP5: Reads most of the text and matches correct picture with minimal support.

61–75 β†’ TP4: Understands main idea and some details; occasionally confuses similar pictures.

41–60 β†’ TP3: Recognises familiar descriptive words (e.g. head, legs, arms) and links to pictures with guidance.

21–40 β†’ TP2: Recognises a few familiar descriptive words or numbers; needs strong support to choose correctly.

0–20 β†’ TP1: Struggles to read or understand the description, even with support; often guesses.
